The Bedlington Terrier is generally a healthy and robust breed with a long life expectancy. At the same time, careful breeding is essential in order to preserve the breed's healt and genetic diversity. In our breeding programme we place strong emphasis on avoiding extensive use of the same stud dog, and we take known hereditary conditions in the breed into account, such as copper toxicosis (COMMD-1) and distichiasis. Breeding dogs and puppies are tested and evaluated with the aim of contributing positively to the continued development of the breed.
